Telemedicine Rules

Dr. Maiella is licensed in the states of Vermont and Massachusetts. That said, the rules of how she can practice between those two states are different.

If you are having your telemedicine visit while YOU are in the state of Vermont, Dr. Maiella can freely use her entire scope of practice, which includes the diagnosis and treatment of disease. She also has full prescriptive authority, IF you are in the state of Vermont during your telemedicine visit.

Her Massachusetts license allows her to perform health consultations, but does not give her the authority to “treat or diagnose” diseases. Nor does Massachusetts give her the authority to provide prescription medications, compounded or otherwise.

*From the patient perspective, the visits will feel the same, no matter where you reside the visits are always comprehensive and cover the same material.

I understand that she can not provide prescription medications if I am outside the state of Vermont, and If I am in need of this services, I attest that I have received this prescription while in the state of Vermont.
